The Vibe
Where to even begin...? This off the beaten path luxury spot in South Caicos might take some effort to get to, but the pay off far outweighs a day of travel.
Maybe we should start with the staff. Always smiling. Always helpful. Always going the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. From Kashmie (Managing Director) to June, Violet, Atiba and the entire front desk staff, we have nothing but the best things to say.
Perhaps we'll start with the beach. Kumang and the rest of the beach staff were always on-point and the beach was beautiful with everything you need right at your fingertips - including specialty cocktails and great food. The hours went by too quickly staring at that crystal blue water and relaxing in the sun.
Accommodations
We were fortunate enough to stay in a three bedroom/three bathroom villa with a full kitchen. Spacious, clean, modern touches and oh-so comfortable with sweeping views of the ocean and the privacy of our own pool to relax. All just a few steps from the Great House. It was hard to leave each day for the beach, and always a joy to come back to late in the afternoon.
Honestly, our 2,000 square foot Beachfront Villa was larger than our house! But it was also our aesthetic with concrete floors, an endless amount of natural sunlight, an open floor plan, clean lines and a neutral palette. The telescoping glass doors opened up to a lush garden on the front side of the villa and an oceanfront pool - complete with comfy outdoor furniture - on the other.

And then there's the food. Chef Jose and staff have really outdone themselves (on a nightly basis). Mouth-watering specials every night in addition to an extensive menu offering just about anything you could want (with some delicious surprises in-between courses). And a special shout out to Ruth and her superior cocktail skills (one of the best gin martinis I've had) and Kumang and Bibi for taking such great care of us at dinner each evening.
The Verdict
Sailrock is a gem. A true getaway from the world of crowded resorts and "good enough" quality. It's a bit harder to get to - but that's what we look for so we can unplug and unwind to come back home recharged and energized.
